In this wonderful book I found the following beautifully written essay on " The Spirit of the Moors", by Halliwell Sutcliffe. It expresses the truth of Emily Bronte's life and genius like no other piece of writing I have ever read.

  1. hi, thank you for posting this! i am doing a phd on yorkshire landscapes in literature and only recently found out about halliwell sutcliffe and he seems to have written a lot of interesting texts and novels, but they are so hard to find!
